In the Land of White Geese and « la Corrivaux »
Perched on the slope overlooking the St. Lawrence River, facing Île d’Orléans, Saint-Vallier is a shaded and charming village that has preserved its tranquility and old-world charm.
This village constitutes a remarkable ensemble of architectural homogeneity, earning it the label of one of the most beautiful villages in Quebec. Particularly noteworthy are the presence of the Lanaudière Manor built in 1767, the mill of the Hospital Sisters, and the classified house of Dr. Côté.
Furthermore, the deconsecrated church has become a community center for the benefit of citizens who can now gather there for any occasion conducive to cultural exchanges.
Although a bit away from the village core, it is also worth visiting the Pointe-de-Saint-Vallier Estate, an example of the municipality’s efforts to preserve its cultural heritage.
A jewel of the region’s natural heritage, the Boyer River Domain is a refuge where one can admire thousands of white geese taking flight with loud cries in spring and autumn.
