A Village with Unique Agricultural Charm.<\/h3>

Sainte-Famille holds the honor of being the oldest parish on the island, established in 1661. The village spreads out on either side of Chemin Royal, on the north side of the island. Throughout the route, from a vantage point, a vast panorama unfolds in three sequences: a large slope down to the river, the river itself, and further away, the north shore dominated by the imposing Laurentian mountain range.

The scenery is grandiose, and the view is breathtaking. The main road meanders lazily along a plateau situated mid-slope, winding through a predominantly agricultural countryside. The parish center, located at the crossroads of Route du Mitan, nestles in a sort of basin occupied by the church, cemetery, a chapel of the dead, the presbytery, and the Mitan Brewery.

The village’s historical real estate mainly consists of cottages with gable roofs typical of the first half of the 19th century and Second Empire-style houses. Additionally, several very old stone houses are scattered throughout its territory, standing out in the built landscape. The parish center includes the church (a historic monument), begun in 1743, the cemetery with its chapel of the dead, and the presbytery with its beautiful yellow and brown facade. A little to the west is a charming procession chapel, a small building constructed in the early 19th century.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
