A Resort Village Set on a Majestic Site.

Cap-à-l’Aigle (Area of the City of La Malbaie)

Located on the shores of the Saint Lawrence River, a few kilometers east of La Malbaie, this village nucleus overlooks the river and offers a vast panorama of the southern shore of the Saint Lawrence. The site is absolutely majestic.

The real estate stock is diversified both in terms of the periods of its construction and the types of buildings present: old farmhouses, village houses, villas, holiday homes, and small cottages.

The village is renowned for several of its quality inns, including the Auberge des Peupliers. The presence of accommodation and hospitality ranges from simple residences to clusters of cottages grouped on the same site. Two successful developments at the western entrance of the village are worth mentioning in this regard: Domaine Frais Air, on the south side of the main street, and Chalets Bellevue, on the north side.

In early June, the Jardin des Lilas offers a unique fragrance, and all private flower beds are filled with over 150 varieties of lilacs.

A little apart from the village, to the west, the magnificent Jardins de Quatre-Vents are a creation of Francis H. Cabot, a philanthropist associated with the American Rock Garden Society and chairman of the board of the New York Botanical Garden. The site, open occasionally during the summer season (by reservation only), provides access to a collection of nearly 1000 plant species and to ancient buildings of great interest (manor house, farm buildings, Japanese bridge…).

Also worth mentioning, although it is off in the mountains, is the real estate project of Terrasses Cap-à-l ’Aigle, which gathers in an impressive site beautiful examples of contemporary architecture discreetly scattered in an intact forest. A fine example of what the architectural heritage of tomorrow will be like!
